BBQ Chicken for the Slow Cooker
It's easy to throw some chicken and a bottle of BBQ sauce into the crock pot and say you have BBQ chicken. I like to put just a little bit of work into it. This is so much better than out of a bottle. Try it and let me know what you think. This slow cooker recipe is perfect for a summer family get together and so easy!
- 3 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 1/2 cups tomato ketchup
- 3 tablespoons brown sugar
- 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon cider vinegar
- 1 teaspoon ground red hot pepper flakes, or to taste (I usually leave this out)
- 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
- Wash chicken breasts and pat
dry. Place in crockpot. Combine all other ingredients and place in
crockpot. Be sure that tops of chicken breasts are coated with mixture.
Cook on HIGH 4 hours or LOW 6-7 hours, until chicken is fully cooked.
Remove chicken to shred and replace in crock pot on LOW until ready to
serve. Enjoy!

Crock Pot Kitchen Sink Stew
This is more of a winter dish, but it's so good and so easy that I still make it in the summer. All I serve with this is cornbread because everything else is already in the pot.
Crock Pot "Kitchen Sink" Chicken Stew
2 lbs. boneless, skinless chicken breasts, washed, patted dry, cut into 1-inch cubes
1 onion, diced
3 large carrots, peeled, cut into 1-inch-thick slices
4-5 redskin potatoes, peeled, cut into 1-inch cubes
2 cans (14 oz. each) chicken broth
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp dry thyme leaves or Mrs. Dash all purpose seasoning
1/2 tsp black pepper
8 oz. mushrooms, cleaned, halved
1 C. frozen corn or 1 can corn, drained
1 C. frozen peas
If you like a tomato based stew, add drained diced tomatoes also.
Place all ingredients, except peas, in crockpot and stir. Cook on LOW 7-9 hours or HIGH 4-6 hours. Add peas about 20 minutes before serving. Enjoy!!!!
