How Much Cardio to Lose Weight: Know Where You Fall

As much as you may hate to admit, how much cardio to lose weight is largely determined by the kind of exercise you do in a day and the intensity. Without doubt, many people find exercising quite difficult especially when told it's the only means they can shed the extra pounds. While there are a million other ways through which you can shed them, exercise remains the most effective and is likely to withstand the test of time. With this in mind, you will find yourself wondering how much cardio you will need in order to lose weight. This article might as well answer that question.

Cardio

Types of cardio exercise:
There are basically two types of cardio exercises. There is the slow steady exercise. This type of exercise takes about 45 minutes to one hour but the intensity is quite low. It aids in the burning of calories and protects the body's joints. The other type is often referred to as high intensity. It is shorter in duration but a bit intensive in nature. Basically, it only takes about 20 to 30 minutes. However, it is more effective as it speeds up the metabolic system.

How much cardio you should do to lose weight:
For beginners, the encouraging thing is that no matter how little you do, you still see results. But if you have never been in cardio exercise before, you may find the exercise quite difficult to tackle but with time the body gradually adopts. So if you are a beginner, just do the sort of exercise that will not make you lose your breath. Maintain such intensity for a period of about 10 to 20 minutes. Once you are good with that, then you can progress to about 30 minutes. This kind of cardio vascular exercise will improve your heart's condition and encourage the burning of fats.

If you have been in exercise for about one year, the above type of exercise may not help you in losing weight. You are actually an intermediate and need around 45 or more minutes of exercise in order to lose weight. You too need to be a bit diverse in your exercise routine and incorporate different forms of cardiovascular exercises.

Advanced users:
There is the last cluster of the advanced. This category includes people who have been very active in exercise but would want to shed off some pounds. This would require that you perform intensive cardio at least twice per day which should not be shorter than 30 minutes each. The trick in this involves making sure that the exercise you tried in the morning is not similar with the one you do in the evening. For instance, a session of weight lifting and another one with highly intensive running will be good in making you lose the extra pounds.

As you have seen, cardio vascular unlike other forms of fitness technique is no mean task for anyone out there. But if I were asked, it is not so hard if you could practice it with consistency and lots of commitment. The good thing is that it is such a healthy way to lose weight. So once you have identified your category, you can easily know how much cardio you need to lose weight.

How Cardio Exercise Helps You To Lose Weight

Some sort of cardio exercise is a must if you want to lose weight. These activities involves running, jumping, even dancing. In other words, any exercise that gets your heart pumping.

cardio

Many people take aerobics classes to get some cardio fitness in. Aerobics involve usually exercising to music in a coordinated fashion, almost like dancing. Aerobics became popular in the 1980s and was developed to make working out more fun.

In addition to aerobics, you can also do other exercises such as bike riding, running, or stair climbing. Most of the health clubs today have a vast array of fitness equipment such as mechanical stair climbers, bicycles, rowing machines, and treadmills.

Cardio exercise burns calories and also gives your metabolism a bit of a boost. This is the reason why people are advised not to exercise before bed. While some forms of exercise, such as yoga and toning exercises are okay to do before going to sleep and may even enhance sleep, cardio is best done in the morning, before you go to work or start your day.

Any physical activities that increases your heart rate will most likely cause you to sweat when you really start working out. When doing any cardio exercise, you should make sure that you keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of water.

If you combine a great fitness routine with a low calorie diet is the most effective way to lose weight. Although low impact exercises can tone your muscles and eliminate fat, cardio exercise will burn calories. However, you should try to incorporate both types of exercises - both cardio exercise and toning exercises, into your routine. Some personal trainers feel that doing cardio every other day and low impact training or toning on the other days is a good way to both lose calories and tone your muscles.

You should start slow when beginning any exercise routine and check with your physician prior to beginning to make sure that it is safe for your heart. If you feel short of breath or dizzy when performing any cardio exercise, stop immediately. This can sometimes happen if you start off too fast. If you continue with the exercise program, you will gradually build yourself up to the point where you can do more each time. Never continue to exercise through pain or discomfort, especially if you get dizzy. You do not need to have a fancy gym membership to incorporate cardio exercise into your life, although gyms do have a variety of equipment that makes this exercise easier on you.

In addition to a proper fitness routine and a well-balanced diet plan, many people seek the help of supplements for increased health, strength, and weight loss benefits. In particular, pre workouts are a very popular form of fitness supplement because it increases energy, focus, and helps to get you through those grueling workouts.

Lemon - Adding Zest to Your Weight Loss

Many citrus fruits, such as grapefruit, have been popular fat burning food sources for many years. Lemon, like its citrus family members, is another powerful food that can boost dieters' weight loss results.

Weight Loss
Fat Burning Powers of Lemon
Like many fat burning citrus fruits, lemon may boost the body's ability to burn fat due to its impact on the body's metabolism. According to various studies and reports, lemon helps subtly stimulate the body's thermogenic process, enabling the body to burn stored fat and calories more efficiently, leading to more effective weight loss.

But in addition to this potential impact, consuming lemon also changes the body's pH level.  According to some diet theories and programs, the body's pH level, when balanced, can lead to increased weight loss benefits.

Lemon and Weight Loss Studies
To investigate the fat burning powers of lemon, a clinical study analyzed the effect of lemon on the body when consumed. According to the reports, the study was a short-term and non-placebo based trial where consumers ingested pure lemon juice as part of their daily diet plan. By adding this pure lemon juice food source, dieters reportedly experienced reduced sugar cravings, enabling consumers to balance their blood sugar levels, maintain energy, and avoid negative food cravings and habits of overeating. By reducing these cravings and negative inclinations, dieters were able to more comfortably inhibit their caloric intake, which prompts the body to burn off stored fat in order to receive energy.

In addition to the decrease in sweet cravings, participants in the study also experienced minor diuretic effects from consuming pure lemon juice. This diuretic impact helped dieters lose some water weight, which allowed dieters to experience a more slim appearance (although water weight is not the same as fat loss). Ultimately, lemon also provided each dieter with an incredible amount of added antioxidants, as pure lemon juice helps the body to detoxify and purify organs and tissues.

Additional Benefits of Lemon
Not only does lemon boost the body's ability to burn fat, but this sour fruit also provides consumers with a myriad of health and wellness perks, some of which include:
  • Lemon can function as an antiseptic.
  • Lemon enhances the body's digestive properties, and can also serve to reduce symptoms and signs of heartburn, bloating, and various other digestive issues.
  • Lemon cleanses and stimulates the body's organs, such as the liver and kidneys.
  • Lemon contains calcium, magnesium, and potassium.
  • When added to hot water, lemon can relieve symptoms of the common cold and/or flu, while also boosting the body's immunity powers with a dose of vitamin C.
  • Lemon juice can function and serve as a skin cleanser.
Adding Lemon to Your DietTo boost your body's fat burning [http://www.bestfatburningfood.com] powers, try adding lemon to commonly consumed meals and food items, such as:
  • Add lemon to water, tea, or other beverages. Specifically, drinking lemon in iced or chilled water will boost your body's thermogenic response, as your body will be forced to increase its temperature in order to heat the ingested water. This temperature boost requires calories; therefore, consuming cold lemon water allows your body to burn off more calories than un-chilled lemon water.
  • Add lemon to plain yogurt or cottage cheese.
  • Squeeze lemon on salads in place of dressing. Not only will you receive the many nutritional benefits of the lemon, but you'll also have a flavorful replacement for the fattening and high-calorie salad dressing alternatives.

The Best Cardio Workout To Lose Fat Fast

Let's face it there is no effective fat loss programme without proper nutrition but no
fat loss programme is complete without talking about cardiovascular exercises. In
order to lose body fat you have to create a calorie deficit. There are two ways you can
use to create a calorie deficit.

Cardio
1) Decrease your calorie intake from food.

2) Burning calories trough exercising.

Tom Venuto, a worldwide bestselling fitness author said it already in his book. Burn
the fat with exercise and feet the muscle with good nutrition. After reading this article
you will discover the best cardio workout for proper fat loss.

Low intensity vs. High intensity
Perhaps you may have heard that low intensity training is better then a high intensity
workout. This is not true if this was the case you should burn the most body fat while
sleeping. High intensity cardio exercises burns the more calories while lower intensity
workouts are burning a greater percentage of calories from fat than carbohydrates. It
is important for you that you select an intensity that is not to light but also not to hard.
We call this the fat-burning zone or target zone.

Duration of the workout
If it is your goal to decrease blood pressure or cholesterol then it is enough to train for
twenty minutes. But if your goal is to burn body fat off then you have to train for at
least thirty minutes otherwise your training won't be effective. Never train more then
sixty minutes in one session if you train so long there is a risk for injuries and over-
training. Training more then sixty minutes in a twenty-four hour is possible but then
you have to split your cardio workouts. One workout in the morning and one in the
evening would be your best bet.

Frequency of the workout
For maximum fat loss I recommend you to train at least three days a week. Even if
you don't suffer from overweight to much do cardiovascular exercises as well it is
good for your health in general. Perhaps you are not blessed with a fast metabolism
then adding an addition day or even two, three, four days will maximize your results.

Cardio is not enough
A "secret" that top fitness models and bodybuilders are using is combining cardio
exercises with weight training. Cardio is very effective with weight lifting for
maximum fat loss. Although it is very rare doing large amount of cardio can result in
losing muscle mass. With cardio exercises you can burn calories during the workout
but with weight training you burn calories after the workout.

I'm sure you have a good idea now how to create your own best cardio workout for
maximum fat loss. Keep an eye on your nutrition as well and you will get results.
Who else wants to know the fat loss secrets of bodybuilders and fitness models.

Lose Weight Faster? Should I Do Weights Or Cardio?

If you are intending to lose weight through regular exercise, you may have pondered over what to do in order to achieve weight loss in the shortest time possible. Will I burn more fats if I do weights or is it more effective to concentrate on cardio?
cardio

I think you will agree that when it comes to deciding which type of exercise to do, we may be confused as to where we should put our effort and focus on. We may have heard that cardio is the only way to go if you would like to blast all that fats! If you have been working on your crunches and neglected your cardio, no matter how toned your abs are, your belly will not look flat until the you get rid of the layer of fats on top of them.

Based on what is being discussed thus far, are we to be convinced that cardio is the way to go if we want to burn fats fast? Cardio workout can be boring for most people and it posed a great challenge to get that dose of cardio workout that your body needs. You may have drawn up a plan to do cardio exercises 3 - 5 times a week with each session lasting about 45mins to an hour. Before you change into your gym gear and hop onto that cardio machine and turn into the "hamster on the wheel" doing endless hours of boring cardio, you may be pleased to learn that interval training is much more effective in helping you burn more fats using the same machines in the same amount of time!

For beginners, you will need to start slow but for those who have been exercising regularly, challenging yourself with harder workouts is the best way to burn more calories and interval training is an excellent way to bring your routine cardio workout up a notch to torch more calories, train your heart and build endurance. Interval training involves alternating high intensity exercise with recovery periods and there are a variety of ways to set up interval workouts.

For e.g. if you are using any of the cardio machines in the gym (treadmill, elliptical machine, stepper, Stairmaster, etc.), instead of going for your normal routine, after a warm-up, crank up the intensity to get the heart-strengthening, calorie torching benefits of your cardio interval training by alternating faster intervals say 3 mins at level 10 and recover at 1-2 mins at say level 4. Depending on your fitness level, recovery period should allow you to be able to talk comfortably and when switch and alternate to a higher speed/intensity, you should feel that maximum effort is needed to converse. If you usually spend about 20-30mins on a cardio machine, you can draw up an interval training plan, increase or decrease the speed according to your fitness level.

If you are outdoors, you could choose to run or speed walk to something in the distance then slow down to recover, repeating the sprint when you feel rested, it works just as well. Interval training is meant to let you work harder than usual and to fully recover during the low intensity intervals. Not only does this help fight boredom, you will break out of the plateau and burn more calories which optimizes your cardio session and help you lose weight faster!

Many of us know that hitting the weights sculpts muscle and to help you lose weights faster and keep them off, building muscles is the way to go. We start losing our lean muscle mass as we start to age. Many people do not know that muscles help burn fats even at rest when you sleep at night. Therefore, the more lean muscle tissue you have, the more efficiently your body burns fats.

In conclusion, in order to lose weight faster and effectively, you have to work hard if you want to change the shape of your body. That means a balance of medium-high intensity cardio exercise along with challenging strength training workouts.

Best Cardio Workouts at Home and the Gym to Lose Body Fat

Everyone that is into cardio workouts has their personal favorite, and we feel that the best are the one you can enjoy and look forward to doing three to four times a week. If you look forward with anticipation to your next cardio workouts, most of the battle against fat loss will be won. However, each have their advantages and we will break down the best cardio workouts at home, then at the gym to lose body fat.
Best cardio workouts at home: step aerobics. These target your legs, hips and glutes, and can easily be set up to work at home with the aid of an aerobic step plus height adjustment (around $20) and some music.

cardio

One of the favorites for women, 30 minutes of these can burn as many as 400 calories. These workouts can be enhanced to burn additional body fat by moving your arms in conjunction with your legs and using wrist or hand weights. As the exercise becomes easier, add ankle weights and increase the height of the step.

Brisk walking is also considered one of the best cardio workouts at home. It is one of the less strenuous forms of cardio workouts, and would be excellent for the person working their way back to greater fitness. Walking can burn up to 180 calories in 30 minutes, and can be enhanced by sprinting or jogging short distances or briskly walking up steep inclines. For those inclined for high intensity cardio workouts, many people would consider the best cardio workouts at home to be jumping rope. One of the best cardio workouts there is, it will burn about eleven calories per minute, and if you really crank up the intensity you can get it up to a whopping 20 calories per minute.

For the best cardio exercises at the gym or fitness center, much of that will be determined by personal choice. If you are a water person, swimming is great because, like cross country skiing it gives the full body a tremendous workout. If you swim, it is recommended to do it on a regular basis as it will be important to build up your stamina for swimming. Also, work within you fat burning zone for the most optimum burning of body fat. The best way to monitor your heart rate is to wear a waterproof heart rate monitor. Racquetball is not only fun and challenging, but a 30 minute session can burn 400 calories. Elliptical trainers are great for building endurance, and can burn about 300 calories in 30 minutes if used on the middle to high resistance.

One of the great advantages of going to the health club is most of the cardio workout equipment has pulse monitoring devices that are quite accurate, which takes much of the guesswork out of knowing if you are staying in the high intensity cardio zone.

Which brings us to devices that measure calories burned and body fat loss. Reports of the accuracy of these devices vary widely, and although there is equipment that can measure calories burned accurately, it is very expensive laboratory equipment not designed for personal use. Until something better is developed through technology, we will still use the heart rate to monitor our cardio exercises.

The Final Verdict On Cardio and Weight Loss

People looking to lose weight / burn body fat, feel that cardio is the way to go.
This what they have been told that cardio does:
Cardio supposedly burns calories during the actual session.
Cardio supposedly burns calories after the session.
Cardio supposedly raises the body's metabolic rate.
Cardio supposedly puts the body into a calorie deficit.

Cardio

And all in all, it supposedly burns body fat.
Regardless of how many so-called scientific studies someone may quote you, regardless of what everyone else seems to be blindly doing, and regardless of what all the magazines and internet sites say.........it all comes down to observing what happens in the real world.

Plain and simple.
Sure, cardio does do every one of the things listed above, but as I've demonstrated over and over, the amount of calories cardio burns, the amount of fat cardio burns, the degree it raises the metabolic rate, or the amount of calorie deficit it achieves is so low, so little, that it is not going to make absolutely that big of a difference in how your body looks.

Period.
I've kept stating the same real world examples over and over, and I'm going to do it again to drive the point home:
Compare those that do cardio to those that don't.

Let's look at professional bodybuilders, since no one is more qualified than a pro bodybuilder to demonstrate the most effective way to build the most muscle, while carrying the least amount of fat.

Look at Darrem Charles, Dave Henry, Gerard Dente, Vince Taylor, and for over the first decade of his career, Dexter Jackson (along with a ton of other big name amateurs).

These guys don't do any cardio whatsoever. Never. Not offseason. Not precontest.
They don't even come close to a treadmill, stairstepper, bike, or any other cardio contraption.
Yet these guys, consistently, contest to contest, are always the most ripped, defined, vascular, and muscular bodybuilders on stage.

They are always in much better condition than any of all the other bodybuilders that do perform cardio day in and day out.

Now, please don't say, "Oh, but what about working the heart, blah, blah, blah?".
Do you honestly believe that your heart isn't getting an intense workout when you do a set of heavy lunges, pulldowns, presses, or any other big movement exercise??
Those that don't think so have obviously never weight trained in an intense manner.

I guarantee you that you are working your heart to a much higher degree when forcing the body to lift heavy weights than any type of cardio you can think of.

Do you really think that a little treadmill works the heart more than getting in a leg press machine, pile on the weights, and start knocking rep after grueling rep out???
Listen, we've already established in my past articles that heavy, intense weight lifting does everything that cardio does, and to a much higher degree.

It burns calories, it burns fat, it raises the metabolic rate for days afterwards, it can cause a calorie deficit..........and, most important of all...............it builds muscle mass!!!!!!!!!
No cardio exercise whatsoever can build muscle mass.

And everyone knows that building lean muscle tissue is the most important factor in being muscular or toned and with low body fat.

What should matter most to you, if you are in search of the most effective and efficient ways to lose weight and burn body fat, is what works in real life, in the real world.

What actually w-o-r-k-s!
Go tell that to all of those people at the gym who spend hours at a time on a treadmill, like gerbil, or in aerobics or spinning class.

Those people, you see them today, and look at them 12 months later, and they'll still look the same!!!
Yeah, they are working up a real sweat, and may feel excellent afterwards, but I prefer to actually look good without a shirt.

Focus on heavy, intense weight lifting, and correct calorie eating.
That's what will actually make a difference in how you look in the mirror.

As with everything, as we experiment and test, test, test, and test some more, for months on end, we sometimes find better methods that lead to gain muscle weight / fat burn at a quicker and easier rate.

But after many many months of testing and measuring rate of fat burn / muscle mass weight gain, and taking a step back and looking at what is happening in the real world and observing other very successful bodybuilders, I have come to the conclusion that cardio is not necessary.
You no longer have to do cardio at all!

Again, focus on the "Big Two".....heavy, intense weight lifting and proper calorie eating.
I noticed that cardio always severely depleted my energy levels, it made me take longer for my muscles to recover, it would cause me to lose some of my hard-earned muscle mass, and it would chew up a lot of my time.

As soon as I stopped doing cardio, concentrated on my special way of weight training I immediately noticed that my muscles would remain "full", I had a lot of energy, and I was able to burn fat a lot faster and easier.
Part of this is because cardio is VERY catabolic (eats up muscle tissue).

You'll have more time and more energy on your hands. Trust me.
So, say "goodnight" to cardio.

The Best Type of Cardio For Weight Loss

Best Cardio For Weight Loss
If you are not already familiar with this, the most effective method of losing weight is to perform regular cardio on top of a calorie deficit diet. This is without doubt the best way to go. But, what is the best cardio for weight loss? In the long run the best type of cardio for weight loss is the type you are going to be able to perform on a regular basis. However, certain types of cardio can help you burn more calories and add more variety to your cardio workouts making them great for weight loss!

cardio

The Best Types of Cardio For Weight Loss
When it comes to performing cardio for weight loss you have a number of options. You can perform low intensity cardio, high intensity cardio, HIIT Cardio, circuit training, cycling, swimming or even just walking. Lets take a look at three of the best type of cardio workouts for weight loss:

Running: Traditional running is still one of the best types of cardio for weight loss. Running is convenient, cheap and can be performed pretty much anywhere. You don't need to pay a fortune for a gym membership if you're looking to lose weight and perform regular cardio. Grab a good pair of running shoes, throw on some comfortable clothes and go running outside. You can run in a park, field or on the road and pavements.

Running can be tough at first but build up your fitness with small 5-10 minute runs and you will increase the time and distance of your running sessions in no time. Running allows you to pace yourself according to your current fitness levels so run at a pace you feel comfortable with. If your unfit and out of shape start off with slow running for smaller durations. 5-10 minutes of regular running each day will do wonders to your fitness levels if you are a complete beginner.

HIIT Cardio: HIIT is another great type of cardio. HIIT stands for high intensity interval training and as you probably guessed, is performed in intervals. For example, you may warm up with a light jog for 2 minutes, sprint for 10 seconds, walk for a minute, sprint for another 20 seconds and switch back to a light jog. You can repeat the intervals as many times as you like. Feel free to add more sprint and rest intervals into the routine, the above was just a quick example.

As you can tell by the name, HIIT is an intense form of cardio but is great for weight loss. HIIT Cardio is often performed in smaller durations such as 10-15 minutes making it far easier to fit into a busy schedule. Certain studies claim that HIIT is the best form of cardio for weight loss due to the number of calories it burns and the effect it has on ones metabolism.

HIIT cardio can be extremely taxing on the body when performed correctly so think twice before diving straight into it. If your new to cardio and have yet to build up your fitness levels I wouldn't perform HIIT just yet. Give yourself a couple of months to build your fitness levels up before attempting HIIT.

HIIT Cardio can be used in a variety of ways. It can be performed when running, cycling or even swimming. Most types of cardio give you the opportunity to implement HIIT into them. When performing HIIT in your cardio sessions be sure to schedule recovery days. HIIT will be extremely hard to perform every day so give yourself enough rest days between sessions.

Circuit Training: Circuit training is also great for weight loss. Circuit training consists of back to back exercises that are performed with very little rest in-between. A typical circuit may be set out like this:
10 Bodyweight squats
5 Press ups/Push ups
20 second rest
15 Squat Thrusts (also known as burpees)
150 Knee Ups
10 second rest
20 Star jumps
15 Bodyweight Crunches

Circuit training can be intense and should leave you tired and out of breath at the end. Circuit training differs slightly from other types of cardio by including a number of strength and bodyweight exercises in the routine helping you build a small amount of strength while improving your fitness levels at the same time. Strength and bodyweight exercises can be made harder by adding more resistance or reps to the exercises once you get fitter and stronger.

Crockpot Recipes Hold the Key to Stress Free Cooking

A few years ago, my crock pot would collect dust in my cupboard waiting for me to make chili or a pot roast. Now it's a rare evening when you don't see it on my counter with the night's dinner in it.

Crockpot

I know that many of you can relate to what it's like in my household from 4:00pm on. After getting 4 kids an after school snack, I am helping a 10 year old with homework, playing dominoes with twin 4 year olds, and chasing after a 2 year old. How on earth could I be expected to do all of this while preparing dinner and not be completely frazzled by the time we sat down to eat? Finally I discovered the answer.

Now each morning I get up and, while drinking my coffee, decide what's for dinner that evening. I take meat out of the freezer to thaw in cold water in the sink, verify remaining ingredients, and play with my 2 year old. Then I leisurely take 10-15 minutes mid morning to throw ingredients into a pot and flip a switch.

I go about the rest of my day relaxed, knowing that dinner will be a cinch. Sure enough, dinner time comes and all I need to do is spoon food onto some plates, sit down, and enjoy!
Reasons why crock pot cooking is virtually stress free:

-Clean up is easy; there aren't numerous pots and pans to wash, just one stoneware pot and maybe a cutting board and knife.

-Minimal preparation is required; just a few minutes each morning.

-It's really difficult to overcook things in a crock pot. Plus, now there are crock pots that will automatically switch to a "keep warm" setting once the cooking time is done.

-Crock pots are wonderful for cheaper cuts of meat. Cooking for a large family, I'm conscientious of my grocery bill. Because crock pots cook meat over a long period of time at low heat, tougher cuts of meat turn out tender and juicy.

-You're not feeding your family fast food or calling the pizza delivery guy again; they are getting quality home cooked meals.

-Crock pot cooking is perfect for any type of mom. Those who work out of the office can quickly fix the meal in the morning or even prepare it the night before and refrigerate.

-Different people can eat at different times. Let's face it, with busy schedules many families can't eat together during the week. A crock pot keeps the meal warm for your toddlers to eat at 5pm, your high school kids to eat at 8pm, and your husband to grab a 10pm snack.

So pull it out of your cupboard, dust it off, and enjoy the wonderful aromas that will fill your home as dinner draws near.

For The Love Of Crockpot Meal

Being men means being fit as a fiddle. They have to be full of a macho representation. There are a small number of men who know how to cook, but the majority of them simply know how to eat, in view of the fact that they usually hand on the job to their woman. If a man knows how to cook, it would be a certain plus points to the ladies. Although it is much better for the ladies to get the art of cooking, for them to grasp their mans attention and everyone is pretty sure that his man would rather go home than spend the rest of his time with his friends, men should also know some ABC in cookery.

Crockpot

Any person has the right to cook at the right time plus the right place. Men are absolutely meat lovers. Crock pot cooking is a great way of dealing with their hunger. There are a lot of crock pot recipes that men could choose from. Spicy chicken would be a perfect feast, given that most of them would typically choose a highly spiced food to give them a tough guy impression. Crock pot Beef and mushroom is an additional selection since that almost all men would be devoted to eat beef instead of a chicken. Low fat crock pot meals such as ground beef stew and beef and black bean soup are great for those men who are looking after their image. If he is a lazy dog and would choose to cook by himself, let him pick out from some easy going crock pot meals such as Crock Pot Mashed Potatoes, Cheesy Crock Pot Chicken, Meat Loaf Recipe and Creamy Green Beans.

Crock pot cooking is one of the easiest methods of heating our food. Men do not have to go for a cooking lesson in order to discover their talent of cooking. All they have to do is to muddle up the ingredients and place the roast within it then hang around. Although it will surely take a lot of time to cook, you would surely fall in love with its product. Every generous man should know how to prepare food for he can serve something to eat to his children if his wife is not around. Make him made a delicious, nutritious and healthy serving of food for your family.

Crock Pot Cooking: A Bachelor's Best Friend

I'm a huge fan of crock pot cooking. From the moment I bought my slow cooker a few years ago, it's made a big difference in the quality of my home-cooked meals. Let me quickly add up the advantages:

Crock Pot

  1. Cuts down physical preparation time.
  2. Makes meals more delicious.
Can't beat that, can you?

Home Cooking Without Slaving
Just imagine you're having one of those "don't want to go to the store" days: you've got random food in the fridge, maybe some frozen chicken breasts, slightly wilted celery, a clove of garlic, maybe a bag of rice. You've got dinner!

Here's another example: In the morning you take a pound of cheap, lean stew meat, cut some carrots, potatoes and a small onion, add a bullion powder packet and cover with water. Give it a stir, set the crock pot on low and go to work. When you get home from work, your place smells incredible, like you've hired a personal chef and they've got dinner waiting for you! Salt and pepper the stew to taste and enjoy.

You can then put the remaining stew in the fridge, where you'll have meals for the next 3-4 days. (Often the stew tastes even better the next day!) Five minutes of work and about 12 dollars of ingredient cost. A bachelor's dream, no?

Get the Most From Your Pantry
It gets even better: the crock pot's magical abilities include tenderizing even the toughest meat. The cheapest cuts of beef are usually also the leanest, giving you all the benefits of eating red meat without the excess fat you'll find in the pricey marbled cuts. Slow-cook a tough cut of beef for 8 hours and it will melt in your mouth.

Importantly for the single man, a crock pot is an easy way to develop cooking skills while keeping it simple and edible. Buy some common spices like basil, paprika and rosemary and learn which go with chicken, beef or vegetables. Experiment with chopping your ingredients larger and smaller. Chili, soup, even stuffed peppers turn out great in a slow-cooker. And if you've ever wondered how to actually cook a pot roast, here's your answer.

You'll find crock pots starting at about $30. Mine is a highly rated Hamilton Beach that cost me, ironically, barely more than a couple of Hamiltons. Higher-priced models have programmable timers and even integrated meat probes to turn the temperature down when the roast is done.

Cooking at home is the best way to make sure you eat right, and there's no simpler way to make your own delicious and healthy meals than a slow-cooker. For a single man, it's a no-brainer.

Best Foods For Weight Loss To Put On Your Grocery List

Scrambled eggs in the morning
On top of the list of foods for weight loss, you will find eggs. Why? They are rich in protein, they are tasty, and they keep you feel full for a longer time than sugar loaded treats. Studies conducted by specialists show that overweight women eating scrambled eggs for breakfast feel less hungry throughout the day and eat less than they would usually do.

food

Reduce calorie intake with salads
There are three important things to keep in mind about best foods for weight loss: they make you feel full, they have nutritional value, and they have low calorie count. For this reason, salads are considered some of the best options you should choose when you want to eat healthy, curb your hunger, and lose weight. Basically, you can eat as much salad as you want without getting fatter, as its calorie count is so low that you will feel full long before you could eat the equivalent in salad of a single sugary treat.

Boost your metabolism with olive oil
The Mediterranean diet, as people call the actual menu those living in Mediterranean countries eat on a regular basis, has many health advantages and one of its secrets is the use of olive oil with almost anything. According to health care professionals, olive oil has great properties that maintain people healthy and slim. Olive oil is considered a great metabolism booster, which means that you end up burning up more calories while doing the exact same thing. Especially for middle-aged people, seasoning their foods with olive oil will help them fight off extra pounds and live healthier.

Why best foods for weight loss also include fruits
Fruits such as pears and apples contain fiber, which is important for having a healthy digestive tract. A healthy body is more capable of maintaining a healthy weight, but this is not the only reason why fruits like the ones mentioned earlier should be included on your list of best foods for weight loss. They also contain a substance called pectin, whose role is to regulate the sugar level in your blood. For this reason, if you are eating fruits between meals, you will feel less tempted to nibble on snacks that add nothing to your diet, nutritionally wise, but add plenty of pounds to your waistline.

Suppress your hunger with beans
One of the reason people get overweight is because the foods they eat leave them feeling hungry or, even worse, they make them feel unnaturally hungry all the time. If you are looking for a true appetite suppressor to include on your list of best foods for weight loss, consider beans. They help you feel full, and they regulate the hunger hormone production in your body. Also, they can help you decrease your cholesterol levels, making your heart healthier.

Try Cooking For Kids With Crock Pots

When you're cooking for kids it can be difficult getting them involved in the process at times. Sometimes I just want them out of the kitchen because the stove is hot and/or the water is boiling. But with all the things your children could be doing - it's truly best when you can teach and share dinnertime with them during this special time of the day.

Crock Pots

Lately, I've been using my crock pot. I guess the new term is 'slow cooker' but I grew up calling it a 'crock pot'. I haven't used my crock pot in years and was shocked how easy meals have been lately.

I remember when I was growing up my mom use to make a German recipe called 'Eintope'. She threw a bunch of vegetables and meat into the pot and let it cook all day long. When I would come home from school I'd have all the 'Eintope' I wanted! Yum! (... of course, that seemed to always be during the cold months when I think crock pot cooking is the best!)

Kids love to help in the kitchen. My youngest is always looking for a job. Sometimes he stirs the sauces, sometimes he rolls the croissant rolls. With crock pot cooking your kids can help cut up vegetables (... please use a vegetable chopper!) and dump everything in the pot together. Now what could be more fun for a kid.

Keep in mind, I go by the general rule that less ingredients is always better when kids are involved. If your children are like my kids - they probably have a short attention span. My boys will run into the kitchen, want to help, and then suddenly bolt into the living room (... leaving everything out on the kitchen counter) because their favorite TV show came on! It's a challenge some days, but I love it.
So, here are a few ideas for your crock pot adventures:
  • Spaghetti & Meatballs
  • Sloppy Joes
  • Bar-B-Que Chicken Wings
  • Beanie Weenies
  • Chili
  • Mac-N-Cheese
Just don't forget to let the kids help with the cleanup. I always make them clean the table and load the dishwasher. But crock pots usually require a little more effort.
Cooking with kids can truly be a joy that you will cherish for a lifetime. If you're not much of a chef, crock pot cooking makes it especially easy! I hope you try it and have fun along the way.
Enjoying Life Online,

Raw Food Weight Loss Diet - Easy Recipes!

Just a little bit ago, I answered some very popular FAQ's about the Raw Food Weight Loss Diet. Now I want to take an even closer look at one of the biggest concerns most people have with the Raw Food Diet - What to eat.

Food Weight Loss

This is a concern with any diet, whether for weight loss, detox, or just general health. Many times you'll know the basics of what you can eat, but you will get bored with the basics pretty quickly. This pushes the door wide open so temptation can waltz in a foil your plan -again!

This doesn't have to be the case, and is one of the biggest reasons I advise people starting this diet to get a Raw Foods Cookbook to help them out. Here are two very easy recipes I've come to love to help you through your day.

Tomato Cups
3 medium tomatoes
1/4 of a small cucumber
1 stick celery
1/2 of a small onion
1/4 cup of fresh parsley
1/2 tablespoon fresh mint
1/2 clove garlic
1/4 cup sesame seeds
1 teaspoon lemon juice
1/2 tablespoon olive oil (optional)
Sea salt to taste

Cut the tomatoes in half and scoop out center, leave about a fourth of an inch worth of wall. Put the scooped out pulp in a bowl and set aside.

Finely chop (or use a food processor) all the other ingredients and put in the bowl with tomato pulp.
Mix well.

Fill the tomato halves slightly higher than the brim.
Makes 6 cups.

These are great for a snack, side dish, or anytime. You can even use smaller tomatoes to make them finger food. :)

Nuts Over Raw Salad
1 cup Almonds
1 cup Cashews
1 cup Walnuts
1 cup Peanuts
1 cup Pumpkin Seeds (de-shelled)
1 cup Raw Chocolate Nibs
4 tablespoons of Agave Nectar
Sea Salt

1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon
Mix all the nuts and seeds in a large bowl. Add agave nectar and stir well. Sprinkle cinnamon, chocolate, and desired sea salt amount and stir once more.

This takes only a few moments and can be eaten at breakfast, on the go, or even as a late night snack and I love the salty/sweet combination!

All it takes to ease into this diet is replacing your snacks with healthier choices like the salad above, and replacing one meal a day with a raw meal. I wish you tons of success!

Success With the Raw Food Weight Loss Program

If you've been on the hunt for a new diet plan to help you lose weight, you may have stumbled upon the raw food weight loss program that has recently been gaining in popularity. This diet has led to some amazing and drastic results in some of its adherents. In fact, the whole concept of eating raw foods has moved past being a diet and into an entire movement, known as "rawism." You may be wondering exactly how this diet works, and why it is so effective.

Food Weight Loss Program

Those who support the raw food weight loss idea claim that raw foods offer a number of benefits both to personal health and for weight loss. For one, raw foods contain enzymes that help with digestion, and cooking destroys these enzymes. Leaving the enzymes alone by eating the food raw helps support a faster metabolism, which results in losing weight fast and keeping it off. In addition, raw foods have a higher nutrient content than cooked foods, and they are also free of preservatives and additives that can make food unhealthy for us.

Another piece of the raw food weight loss program has to do with acidity. Your body contains a number of different fatty acids, which can affect your weight. Most of the foods in the raw diet are alkaline, and thus reduce that acid. Foods that are part of the raw diet include all sorts of uncooked vegetables and fruits, raw fish such as sushi, nuts and seeds, unprocessed cheeses. If those are kinds of foods that are regularly part of your diet, you may want to considering going raw and seeing if it benefits you.

Raw Food Weight Loss Diet Tips

Sometimes the answers we are looking for are in plain sight and if you're looking for the ultimate raw food weight loss diet ideas, then you've come to the right place. More people than ever are wanting to learn more about how to lose weight naturally.

Food Weight Loss Diet

What I'm about to reveal in this article, may completely change your outlook on losing weight forever. At one time in my life, I thought losing weight was about eating the right foods and exercising. Although my intentions were good, the process of knowing how to eat healthy was incorrect.

Using raw foods to lose weight is, possibly the most effective way to shed those ugly pounds, that I've ever witnessed. I've read my fair share of weight loss books, that tell you to go on a low-carb diet eating tuna fish. They fail to realize, that there is a much better way to lose weight, then these old worn-out concepts.

It's imperative that you get your hands on a good raw food eating guide, to help you put together a simple eating schedule, that you will stick to on a daily basis. Not only will you begin losing weight, but you will have more energy to exercise for the first time in your life!

If you start adding jalapeno peppers and thin slices of habanero peppers to your salads, it will be a hot experience, that stimulates your metabolism. These hot peppers will assist your digestion and will start burning the fat. There are millions of people that don't even know how powerful hot peppers are for helping you lose weight naturally.

Using only cayenne pepper pills will not be as effective as using raw hot peppers. Of course, it is wise to consult your physician before consuming such hot foods. These hot peppers can help your heart health and speed up your weight loss faster than any so-called fat loss pill on the market. Not to mention, eating raw hot peppers is cheaper than buying diet pills!

You will notice a dramatic improvement in your overall health as a result of eating jalapeno peppers. I never thought I would love hot and spicy foods, but now I do. This is my secret weapon to helping cleanse my body and it gives me more energy. A person who is overweight is lacking the energy to get exercising in the first place. Eating raw fruits and vegetables will give a person who is obese the energy to get up in the morning and take action.

When I watch all the shows on TV, such as the biggest loser, I never hear anything about consuming raw spicy foods, which help boost the immune system. I see people on these shows that are working out with weights and trying to build up their energy. Just think, if they knew the importance of eating raw fruits and vegetables, they may have the energy to work out with those weights, instead of struggling with them.

The Triple Attack to Lose Belly Fat Fast

Belly fat, you don't want it, you can't hide it... and no matter what you do, you can't seem to get rid of it!  And once you look in the mirror and see the belly fat hanging down, I know you want to get rid of it fast.
You need the "Triple Attack To Lose Belly Fat Fast".  I'll tell you what you need to hear, (not necessarily what you want to hear), to lose belly fat fast... and get rid of those love handles and that beer belly once and for all!

Lose Belly Fat

So if you're willing to hear the truth about losing fat fast, and do something about it, you can develop the washboard six pack, flat stomach, lean abdominals you've always wanted... absent of the belly fat that has been keeping you from performing, feeling and looking your best!

The Triple Attack To Lose Belly Fat Fast!
Many of you have tried endless crunches and sit ups in search for the six pack look... only to end up tired and frustrated with muscles hidden by layers of fat.  Others have tried reduced calories diets to lose belly fat... and even after all the sacrifices, ending up with more belly fat than when you started.  It seems like nothing works.

The reason... losing belly fat cannot be accomplished, (for most), by the exclusive use of either exercise or diet.  As a matter of fact you need a triple attack to lose belly fat fast!
Your belly fat is a RESULT of your workout program, nutrition plan and lifestyle... so to reduce belly fat you must CHANGE what you do, what you eat and how you live.

It IS as simple as that!
To lose belly fat fast you must...
- burn belly fat through exercise...
- lose belly fat through proper diet...
- avoid belly fat through healthy lifestyle.
And yes, you must do all three if you want to lose belly fat fast... no "can I do only one" or "there has to be an easier way".  And no, there aren't any super fat loss pills or magic potions you can take to lose belly fat fast.

I told you it might not be what you want to hear!
Belly Fat Attack #1... Lose Belly Fat Fast Through Exercise
In order to get rid of that embarrassing belly fat... you must exercise to burn fat.
I know what your thinking... "I tried that, and it didn't work!"  And you're right... most exercise programs won't significantly help you lose belly fat fast.  You must combine resistance training to build muscle, intense cardio to burn calories and targeted ab exercise to firm and tighten your mid-section and stomach area.
Only be combining all three methods of exercise will you begin to build the body that will drive belly fat into extinction.  Because after all, this type of exercise does not just destroy belly fat... it builds a muscular, attractive body!

But no amount of exercise will make up for a poor diet, so...
Belly Fat Attack #2... Lose Belly Fat Fast Through Proper Diet
In order to expose the firm, tight core you develop through exercise... you must lose belly fat through proper diet and nutrition.

Oh no, I said the 4 letter word "diet".  By "diet" I don't mean those restrictive calorie diets you tried before... only to end up with more belly fat than when you started.  As a matter of fact... don't concentrate on only reducing calories!

Don't focus on what you can't eat... focus on how you should eat to make belly fat a distant memory.  Eat properly, embrace healthy eating habits and improve metabolism... and the belly fat will come off!
If you've been paying attention so far, you would have realized I have changed the classic axiom of "Exercise More, Eat Less" to "Exercise Better, Eat Better"!

But exercise and diet are not the only things you can do to lose belly fat fast...
Belly Fat Attack #3... Lose Belly Fat Fast Through Healthy Lifestyle
There is more to life than exercise and diet... your body is a dynamic organism, reacting and adapting to all outside and inside influences.  Therefore, don't sabotage your exercise and diet efforts with an unhealthy lifestyle and low self image.  Drinking, smoking, stress, poor sleeping habits, low self image, etc. all effect your body and can contribute to the accumulation of belly fat.

Getting rid of excess belly fat can actually lower high blood pressure... a major health risk.  Reduce stress, and you create an environment where belly fat fails to thrive.  Last, but certainly not least, improve self image to ensure long term leanness... and you'll keep the bell fat off forever.

The Triple Attack To Lose Belly Fat Fast works... but exactly how it is applied by each individual will be unique to that individual.  While there is probably room for improvement in all the areas of exercise, diet and lifestyle... there is usually one area that is more of a problem than the others.  To start seeing RESULTS for your efforts faster... focus on your biggest problem area first!

Change what you do (effective fat loss workout), what you eat (a healthy diet) and how you live (habits that support your diet and exercise) and you WILL lose belly fat fast.

You want to make sure that you try to do cardiovascular activities three to five times a week but one of the key things that you make sure you do when you do work out is that every time you do cardiovascular activities that you do the activities each time a little longer because every time that you do cardiovascular activities the next time you do the same activity if you do not do it longer then you will not shed any of those extra pounds that you have on your body. Elliptical machines are great because they are less strenuous on your knees and legs for people that have leg problems then elliptical machines are were you want to spend most of you time because you are not going to have the bad pains that you get from running or walking on hard concrete. When I use the elliptical I usually like to go on it for forty five minutes but again you want to start off were you are capable of it then you want to work your way up to a reasonable amount of time to be working out on the elliptical machines.

The third cardiovascular activity that is going to help you stay healthy is walking because it is a great low impact exercise. Walking everyone can do and there should be no problems with getting yourself motivated to do it because it does not take up to much strength in the first place. When you are first getting back to cardiovascular activities it is good to start off with walking and then working your way to the more strenuous activities.

How Long to Exercise After High-Calorie Foods?

It has happened to everyone. You eat something that was not good for you, and now you feel like you are getting fatter by the hour.
The foods that are not healthy are usually those that are also very high in calories. They can easily throw us off with our calorie balance. And you know very well what follows if you eat more calories than you expend - you store the extra calories in the form of subcutaneous fat.

High-Calorie Foods

So, you made a mistake already by eating the "bad" food. Now, how do you correct it?
First, you have to find out how many calories there were in what you ate, that brought you over your total calories for the day. You can do that by visiting a comprehensive foods database such as CalorieKing and finding the corresponding food and portion size.

Second, you have to determine how many calories you burn for one hour, during your favorite physical activity. Here is an example of some common activities and the calories burned with them:

Stationary bicycle (light effort) - 2.5 cal/lb/hour
Running - 4.5 cal/lb/hour
Weight lifting - 2.7 cal/lb/hour
You can easily determine your energy expenditure with these sports, using the above examples. The number of calories in the result will be for one hour exercising, performing the physical activity.

If you divide the result by 60, you will get what you expend for one minute. Next, you need to divide the total calories of the food you ate by the calories for 1 minute of your favorite sports activity. That will give you how many minutes you will have to perform the corresponding activity in order to burn the same amount of calories.

Healthy Homemade Recipe - Chicken and Pasta

Having a busy schedule can contribute to poor eating habits. After a long day, no one looks forward to coming home and cooking a healthy homemade recipe. It seems much easier to stop at the local fast food drive-through restaurant for dinner. Though this option may be convenient, neither your wallet nor your body can sustain such routine on a daily basis. Having a busy schedule that keeps you away from home most of the day, should not prevent you from enjoying a healthy homemade recipe. An added benefit of cooking a healthy homemade recipe is that you can have leftovers for lunch the next day.

Chicken and Pasta

You can enjoy a healthy homemade recipe by keeping a few tips in mind, such as seasoning your meat ahead of time. Pick meats that have relatively short cooking times, and cut the meats into small pieces. Cutting your meats into pieces helps shorten the cooking time. I also favor products made with whole wheat or sprouted flour, because they are healthy. For example, bleached flour has less protein than unbleached flour. An essential part of a healthy homemade recipe is its grain content. The healthiest types of grains are whole grains. Whole grain does not have its bran and germ removed by milling; hence, whole grain is unrefined and very healthy. Whole grain is a great source of fiber and other important nutrients such as selenium, potassium, and magnesium. Brown rice and popcorn are good sources of whole grain. White rice does not provide the nutritional value your body needs, because white rice lacks many important minerals such as niacin, iron, potassium, and magnesium. White rice is also deficient in crucial vitamins such as vitamin B, B3, B6, and E. Brown rice on the other hand can contribute to weight loss, and it helps slow the aging process.

To make your healthy homemade recipe even more digestible, make enough room for vegetables. Vegetables have relatively short cooking times. Raw vegetable has the most nutritional value. However, if you decide to cook your vegetables, cook them for a very short time. Furthermore, do not drench the vegetables in butter, oil, or salt. Below, I have provided a healthy homemade recipe for chicken and pasta, served with raw baby spinach and sauce.

Healthy Homemade Recipe: Chicken and Pasta
Ingredients for the Chicken and Pasta Recipe
  • 2 seasoned chicken cutlets, sliced in pieces
  • 5 grains of minced garlic
  • ½ large chopped onion
  • 2 diced tomatoes
  • ½ cup flour
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon of salt-free seasoning blend
  • ½ tablespoon of salt
  • 1 tablespoon of basil
  • 1½ cup of tomato sauce
  • Extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 bay leaf
  • ½ cup of grated mozzarella cheese (optional)
  • 1 baby bell pepper
  • Few branches of rosemary
  • Whole wheat pasta
  • Baby spinach
Instructions for the Chicken and Pasta Recipe
To make this healthy homemade recipe, combine the basil with the seasoning blend and the flour in a small bowl. Add the egg content in a separate bowl. Dip the chicken slices into the egg, and then coat them with the flour mixture. Heat some extra virgin olive oil in a frying pan on medium fire, and cook the chicken slices until they turn brown. Make sure you marinate the chicken ahead of time.

Heat a few drops of extra virgin olive oil in a medium sauce pan. Add onions, garlic, and baby bell pepper to the heated olive oil. Reduce the heat after a few moments, add some tomato sauce, and stir for 2 to 3 minutes. Add the chickens and the bay leaf to the sauce. Cover up the sauce pan and let it cook for 7 to 10 minutes on low fire; make sure to stir occasionally. Sprinkle grated mozzarella cheese on the sauce when the chicken is almost done cooking; Add few rosemary branches as well.

Boil some water, add a tablespoon of olive oil and salt to it, and add the whole wheat pasta. Cook the whole wheat pasta until it is firm. Remove it from the stove and strain it.

Serve the chicken and sauce with the whole wheat pasta, topped with the remaining grated mozzarella cheese; add some baby spinach as a side dish.
